Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president of Nigeria, claims that his administration is implementing “detailed strategies” to guarantee that the nation’s schools are safe places for education.
The president’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, stated in a statement on Sunday that Tinubu was pleased to learn that the kids kidnapped from Government Secondary School Kuriga, Kaduna, and Tsangaya in Sokoto had been freed.
The president expressed gratitude to the security agencies, national security advisor Nuhu Ribadu, and Kaduna governor Uba Sani for the safe return of the kidnapped Kuriga students.
The president said the dedication towards the safe release of the victims is “critical to optimal outcomes in cases of mass abductions”.
In the early hours of Sunday, Sani announced the release of the abducted Kuriga schoolchildren.
Sani Abdullahi, a teacher at Government Secondary School Kuriga, had said 287 students were missing after the attack on the schools.
On Friday, 15 students abducted from a Tsangaya school in Gidan Baya, Gada LGA of Sokoto regained their freedom.
The students were kidnapped on March 9 when bandits attacked their community.
