The founder and Senior Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare, has said he would support President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid.

Buhari had on Monday told the National Executive Council meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that he is seeking re-election.

While reacting to the development, Bakare who was Buhari’s running-mate in 2011 elections, assured that he would back Buhari if he sought his support.

Bakare noted that the President had the right to contest as guaranteed by the Nigerian constitution.

“I would support Buhari If he canvasses for my support,” Bakare said.

“It was the President’s prerogative to seek re-election, nothing forbade the President constitutionally from seeking re-election.”

On whether he would cast his vote for the President, Bakare said “It is a secret vote, for that it remains my secret.”
