Troops from Operation Hadin Kai conducted a successful raid in Sambisa Forest on the morning of September 12, killing Ibn Kaseer, a top ISWAP commander, and three of his fighters.

According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication covering the Lake Chad region, the operation was carried out by soldiers from the 21 Brigade, supported by Hybrid forces, in Kashomeri village, based on reliable intelligence.

Kaseer, notorious for terrorizing the Geizuwa and Yale axis, had attempted to hide with his family in Kashomeri, but his location was uncovered, leading to his elimination alongside two lieutenants, including Bulamadu.

The raid occurred while Kaseer’s men were engaged in a separate mission in Jalumeri.

During the operation, four women and children were rescued, and some family members of the terrorists surrendered to the army at Konduga.

The elimination of Ibn Kaseer marks a significant blow to ISWAP’s operations in the region.
