President Bola Tinubu is currently chairing the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of his administration at the State House in Abuja.
On August 21, the president appointed 45 ministers who were selected and approved by the Senate.
The president then tasked them with helping him carry out his administration’s “renewal of hope” agenda.
“I expect that you will serve with integrity, dignity and deliver. I will hold you to that standard we all promised Nigerians,” the president had said.
“Your assignment begins immediately.”
At the time of reporting, the FEC has just sang the national anthem and recited the pledge.
The press has been asked to leave the hall.
The first batch of ministers were nominated on July 27, with the list of a second batch transmitted to Godswill Akpabio, senate president, on August 2.
48 ministers were nominated by the president in total.
Three of the nominees, including Nasir el-Rufai, immediate past governor of Kaduna state, were not confirmed by the senate over security clearance.
