Don’t miss out on GOWON, a captivating stage play happening this weekend at the Agip Recital Hall, Muson Centre, Lagos, on August 24th and 25th, 2024. Directed by the esteemed Prof. Ahmed Yerima, GOWON takes you on a journey through Nigeria’s history, focusing on the life and legacy of General Yakubu Gowon, former military head of state.
The play features an exceptional cast, including the celebrated British-Nigerian actress Tayo Elesin as Victoria Gowon, alongside Patrick Diabuah, Funsho Adeolu, Nedu Wazobia, and Yinka Davies. Together, they bring to life Gowon’s significant contributions to Nigeria, from his Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Reorientation policies to the cultural richness of the Angas tribe and the unifying philosophy of “No Victor, No Vanquished.”
Produced by the Duke of Shomolu Foundation and executive produced by Mofoluwake Edgar, GOWON promises an enlightening and engaging experience. Performances will run from 4 PM to 6 PM on both days.
