President Muhammadu Buhari was on Wednesday asked to move on from comparing his administration to that of former President Goodluck Jonathan. The call was made by Aisha Yesufu, co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) advocacy group.

This was in response to Buhari’s comparison of his administration’s response to the Dapchi girls’ abduction to Jonathan’s response to the Chibok girls kidnap. Buhari, speaking in Yobe state on Wednesday, had said, unlike the Jonathan administration, his responded fast to the February 19 abduction of 110 students of Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe state.

In her reaction, Aisha said the visit by the president to Yobe state should have been one for a show of empathy, not a contest for who did better in the same situation. Taking to her Twitter page, she asked that someone remind Buhari he was not elected to “drag title of incompetence” with Jonathan.

She wrote “President Muhammadu Buhari’s tour was supposed to be of empathy and condolence instead it has turned into show of incompetence.“Can someone tell PMB he was not voted to drag title of incompetence with Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan? He should leave GEJ alone!”
