It is generally believe that education cannot be limited to only what is taught in the classroom; co-curricular activities must be included in the curriculum to get a balanced product from our institution of learning.
It is on the strength of this understanding that the Spelling Bee competition was established to promote leadership and communication abilities in our children from a very tender age. The competition is designed for students between the ages of 8 and 13 to inculcate the basic imperatives of effective communication, ultimately impacting improved spelling skills, development of poise, increase students’ vocabulary, pronunciation and accurate word usage.
As franchise holders of Scripps National Spelling Bee, USA, the programme emphasizes the importance of communication because being erudite begins with communication, and communication entails the transaction of ideas, using words and symbols as a fundamental platform.
