Spelling Bee 2018: Winner To Get All-Expense Paid Trip To Washington, Scholarship Fund

Young Educators Foundation (YEF) in Partnership with Peat Philips Foundation (PPF)seeks to improve the lives of our youth through literacy, whilst championing the cause of education. It is generally believe that education cannot be limited to only what is taught in the classroom; co-curricular activities must be included in the curriculum to get a balanced product from our institution of learning.

It is on the strength of this understanding that the Spelling Bee competition was established to promote leadership and communication abilities in our children from a very tender age. The competition is designed for students between the ages of 8 and 13 to inculcate the basic imperatives of effective communication, ultimately impacting improved spelling skills, development of poise, increase students’ vocabulary, pronunciation and accurate word usage.

As franchise holders of Scripps National Spelling Bee, USA, the programme emphasizes the importance of communication because being erudite begins with communication, and communication entails the transaction of ideas, using words and symbols as a fundamental platform.

The winner of the Spelling Bee wins an all-expense paid trip to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington DC, USA as a guest, plus a scholarship Fund, whilst the 2nd and 3rd place winners get scholarship funds and sponsors products.

The Indomie Spelling Bee Nigeria 2018 will have representation from 13 States in Nigeria at the National finals; the states are Plateau, Ekiti, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Kaduna, Benue, Delta, Bayelsa, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Lagos including FCT, Abuja.

All state qualifiers/representatives will be arriving for the 4-day national camp in Lagos from April 29– May 03, 2018.

The 2018Indomie Spelling Bee Grand Finale will hold onWednesday, May 2, 2018 at NECA Hall, Central Business District, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
