The General Overseer of Lagos State-based Tongue of Fire Restoration Ministry, Pastor Chukwuma Nkwocha, has said it was not true he slept with all the 30 girls that he accommodated in his house.
Thirty girls said to be aged between 10 and 18 were picked up from Nkwocha’s house when he was arrested on Tuesday.
Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Lagos State Police Command carried out the arrest while Nkwocha was presiding over a church service.
Nkwocha, however, told newsmen that he slept with only one of the girls, adding that his intention was to marry her.
However, he had earlier told police detectives that he had slept with 13 of them.
He said: “The only person I slept with is Kingdom.
“What prompted me to make love with her was because I wanted to show her how I love and cherish her.
“Even her parents knew she was living with me.
“They also know that she is my love.”
Nkwocha equally said contrary to information making the rounds that all the girls were between 10 years and 15 years, Kingdom was 17 years old.
He equally said there was no big deal having sexual relationship with a 17-year-old, adding that he did not procure abortion for any of the girls as alleged.
He said: “I know it is not right to sleep with under-aged girls, but as human being, anything can happen to man.
“Everything is devil’s work because I believe no man is perfect.
“The abortion carried out for one of the girls was done by one of my pastor friends, Steven.
“I travelled out of Lagos.
“The only girl that carried out abortion is Nosa.
“She called me with Pastor Steven’s phone that he took her to the hospital to carry out the abortion.
“The matter about abortion was reported to me when I was in the village to bury my father.
“Immediately, I came back.
“Both Pastor Steven and Nosa came to my church where I tongue lashed the pastor for
their immoral act.
“It was the same girl I was supporting that came and reported me to the police of trying to rape her.
“I am not happy.
“If only God can give me a second chance to repent from my sin, I would be grateful to Him because I knew I have offended almighty God seriously.
“I know He is a merciful God.”
The Commissioner, Lagos State Police Command, Fatai Owoseni, who paraded Nkwocha on Friday, said the pastor took advantage of his female members who did not have accommodation.
Owoseni said: “The pastor took advantage of the economic situation of the country to sleep with some the girls whose age range from 13 to 18, who were later discovered to be in the pastor’s custody.”
He said Nkwocha had confessed to having had sexual relationship with about 13 of the girls.
Owoseni said Nkwocha would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigation.
