Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church has said that the church may consider ordaining married men as priests.
According to pope who made this known in an interview on Thursday, he might consider ordaining these married men to help in urban areas faced with a shortage of priests.
“We must consider if viri probati is a possibility. Then we must determine what tasks they can perform, for example, in remote communities,” he said in the interview with German Newspaper.
Pope, however, stated that allowing priests in training to choose whether or not to be celibate was “not the solution”.
