The Nigeria Police Force has successfully brought back Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, also known as “Killaboi,” to Nigeria after extraditing him from Doha, Qatar.

According to a statement issued today by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police spokesperson, the fugitive, who was wanted for the m$rder of Miss Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe, was returned to the country early this morning, Saturday, April 19, 2025. This was achieved through joint efforts involving the Ministry of Justice, INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) at Force Headquarters Abuja, and the judicial authorities in Qatar.

Adejobi further stated that the extradition was initiated following a petition from the deceased’s family, submitted through their lawyers on September 29, 2024. The case was then assigned to INTERPOL NCB Abuja for investigation. The investigation revealed that the suspect, Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, m$rdered Miss Onuwabhagbe, a 21-year-old top-performing student at Lead City University, Ibadan, at his home located at No. 24A Abiola Apooyi Street, Oral Estate, Ajah, Lagos, on July 13, 2023. After committing the crime, he fled Nigeria and later posted an online video that appeared to be a confession, which was a misleading tactic to obstruct the investigation.

She stated that after the NPF Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) declared him wanted on October 13, 2023, an INTERPOL Red Notice was issued for his arrest worldwide. He was initially apprehended in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on October 20, 2023, using the fake name “KANU PRINCETON SAMUEL.” However, he escaped from custody during a prison break in Freetown on November 26, 2023.

Continuing, she explained that more intelligence gathering showed the suspect continued to avoid law enforcement by traveling through various regions, including West Africa, East Asia, and the Middle East, using forged identities. He eventually moved to Doha, Qatar, on January 24, 2025. There, he used the alias “TOURE ABDOULAYE” and a fake Guinean passport to obtain illegal employment and hide his real identity.
