The newly sworn in Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Mrs Omolola Essien Is the new Chairman of Conference 57, umbrella body of Lagos council chairmen.
Mrs. Essien has a wide experience at the grassroots level haven at one time served as Executive Secretary of Ikeja Local Government during the administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and was also Vice Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government at one point in time.
This the first time a woman will be leading the umbrella body of the Lagos council bosses.
The Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area, Ogidan M. Olaitan emerged the Deputy Chairman of the body.
There are three Vice Chairmen each representing the three senatorial districts of the state thus: Rasak Olusola Ajala, Chairman of Odiolowo/Ojuwoye LCDA emerged Vice Chairman for Lagos West Senatorial District, the largest senatorial district in the state; Kamal Bashua, Chairman, Lagos Island East is the Vice Chairman for Lagos Central Senatorial Districit; while Afolabi Sofola, Chairman, Kosofe Local Government emerged Vice Chairman for Lagos East Senatorial District.
The Chairman of Oshodi Isolo Local Government, Bolaji Muse-Ariyo is the new Secretary of the group while his counterpart from Bariga LCDA, Kolade David Alabi emerged Treasurer of the Conference.
The Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Shamusudeen Abiodun Olaleye emerged the Legal Adviser of the group while his counterpart from Coker Aguda LCDA, Mrs. Omobolanle Akinyemi-Obe emerged the Welfare Officer of the Conference.
