Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has decorated his son, Adeboye Obasanjo as Brigadier-General in the Nigerian Army, following his promotion. Obasanjo, a former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was accorded a rare privilege by the military authorities yesterday to decorate his son with his newly acquired rank at the Nigerian Engineering Corp at the Bonny Camp, Lagos. A proud and happy OBJ was accompanied to the ceremony by some traditional rulers and retired military top brass.
The decorated Obasanjo, of the Nigeria Army Engineering Corps, who holds two Master’s Degrees and other professional qualifications has passed through the military mills both in Nigeria and in various foreign formations.
Recall that Brigadier General Adeboye, seven years ago, was shot and wounded by Boko Haram insurgents in the Mubi area of Adamawa State, where he was leading a platoon against the terrorist group. He was treated and subsequently discharged from the hospital.
Adeboye was promoted to the rank in December 2021.
