Further information has surfaced regarding Nigeria Labour Congress President Joe Ajaero’s encounter with the Department of State Services.
Ajaero was arrested on Monday at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport while en route to a Trade Union Congress conference in the UK.
In an interview with Channels Television following his release at 11pm, Ajaero revealed that; the DSS confiscated his international passport, police interrogated him during his DSS detention, the combined DSS and police questioning lasted approximately 15 hours.
He said among other issues raised by the security operatives who grilled him were his perceived roles in the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests that took place in August and alleged terrorism financing involving a British national, Andrew Wynne.
