LASU To Honour Oba Elegushi, Gbajabiamila, Fashola, Others With Doctorate Degrees

As part of activities of its 26th Convocation ceremony, the Lagos State University will confer Honorary Doctorate Degree on Lagos first class traditional ruler, Oba Saheed Elegushi.

Speaking at a press conference to announce programmes for the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of the school, Prof Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello stated that Oba Elegushi, amongst other eminent Nigerians are being honoured for their contribution to the development of the university and humanity in general, through various initiatives and interventions.

Prof Ibiyemi noted that the university is celebrating the 40 years of its establishment and it is a good time to honour individuals who have contributed to the developemnt of the institution, making it a foremost institution for learning and development.

Other honorees slated for the June 22nd event include former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, former Lagos Deputy Governor, Adejoke Orelope and Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Fire Ministries, Kayode Olukoya.

Lagos State University, established in 1983, is the state-owned university, offering degree awarding courses to thousands of students from different parts of the world.
