The kidnappers of those working on Kodjo Farms in Epe area of Lagos State have demanded for a N25 million ransom.
The workers were kidnapped in the early hours of Sunday by heavily armed men dressed in military camouflage.
Those kidnapped were a 65-year-old guard, Kakaja Joseph, and four poultry workers.
So also did the gunmen kidnap two others who were traveling along Igbodu Road.
The kidnappers are demanding N5 million on each of the abducted workers.
The demand for ransom was made by the kidnappers when they called Joseph’s son, Isaiah, at about 9pm on Monday.
Isaiah said: “Since on Sunday my father had been kidnapped, I have moved into the community to pacify my mother.
“When I picked up my phone, the callers told me not to panic, that they were the ones who kidnapped my father, that what they are after is money and we should hasten up and get them the money.
“Presently, we cannot afford the money they are demanding for.
“Those who were kidnapped, their salary for three years cannot take care of their ransom because these are people who are just earning N15,000 to N20,000 monthly.
“How do you expect them to get such amount of money?”
“My brothers and I are only doing our own best to rescue our father from the kidnappers den.
“We are concerned about his health because the Kodjo Poultry management is not helping matters.
“They are not coming forth to give us the clear picture of the situation.
