A staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum corporation, Betty Ifeoma, who locked her 13-year-old maid, Nkechi Oseh, in the house with just two packets of cabin biscuits and travelled abroad has reported herself to the police.
According to a statement by the Lagos State Police Command, the lady reported herself at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja on Friday at about 7:15pm.
The Eagle Online recalls that Oseh was rescued by a team led by the Acting Commissioner in charge of the Lagos State Police Command, Edgar Imohimi, on November 22, 2017.
The statement by the Command on Friday said Ifeoma, who works in the Lagos Office of the NNPC, was still undergoing interrogation at the Human Rights Section of Lagos State Police Command as at press time.
It is expected that she will be charged to court on Monday.
The statement added: “The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, wishes to use this medium to warn parents to be mindful of whom they entrust their children to in order to avoid abuse of this nature.”
