Nigeria’s President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to embark on an official visit to Beijing, China, departing from Abuja today.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale’s statement on Thursday, Tinubu’s journey will include a “brief layover” in the United Arab Emirates.

Upon arrival in China, the President will engage in key meetings, including:

– A meeting with President Xi Jinping.

– Discussions with Chinese business leaders on the sidelines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Senior government officials will accompany Tinubu on this trip.

A major highlight of the visit is Tinubu’s attendance at the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), scheduled for September 4-6.

FOCAC serves as a vital platform for strengthening economic and political ties between China and African nations, convening every three years.

The last forum was held virtually in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
