Amidst the escalating #EndBadGovernance and “10 Days of Rage” protests across Nigeria, police in Abuja arrested a young man found carrying a knife near the National Stadium.
The man, wearing a wine and white T-shirt, appeared frightened as police questioned him about the object.
A surrounding crowd expressed their anger and frustration. Meanwhile, police have been using tear gas to disperse protesters in Abuja.
Despite efforts by President Bola Tinubu and his ministers to dissuade the protesters, the demonstrations have continued, fueled by Nigeria’s worsening cost of living crisis.
The crisis has been exacerbated by soaring inflation since the removal of the petrol subsidy regime and the floating of the nation’s currency in 2023.
