The Olubadan-in-Council has chosen former Oyo State Governor, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The nomination was initiated by the Balogun Olubadan, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, and supported by the Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole, during a meeting held at the Oke-Aremo palace of the Olubadan.
Oba Ajibola stated that all members of the Olubadan-in-Council had endorsed Ladoja’s nomination. He noted that the council would forward Ladoja’s name to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for official approval and to schedule the coronation ceremony, during which the Staff and Certificate of Office would be presented.
The nomination comes after the conclusion of the 21-day mourning period for the late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away on July 7, 2025, after serving for one year. Olakulehin had succeeded Oba Dr. Mohood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
