A noticeable deployment of armed police officers was observed at Wadata Plaza, the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja, amid growing tension surrounding the scheduled National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting set to take place today.
According to a party official who spoke to Channels Television’s correspondent off the record, the officers were positioned to halt the proposed “NEC Expanded Caucus Meeting.”
Despite the heavy security, some PDP staff were permitted entry into the secretariat without interference from the police.
Officers were also seen securing Dalaba Street, the access road leading to Wadata Plaza.
