The family of Bolaji Olarewaju, widely known as Big Bolaji, has announced the singer’s death after a short period of illness.
In a statement released by the family on Saturday, they confirmed that Bolaji passed away on Easter Saturday.
The statement read, “It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bolaji Olarewaju, fondly called “Big B.” He was a beloved father, husband, brother, and a respected individual in the church as an ordained Pastor in the RCCG, as well as a significant figure in the music industry and our community. Bolaji passed away on Easter Saturday, April 19th, 2025, following a brief illness.
“His passing has created an irreplaceable emptiness in our hearts.
“Bolaji’s life was a reflection of his strong love for music, his unwavering faith, and his commitment to uplifting those around him. His impact lies not only in the music he created but also in the lives he positively influenced and the immense joy he brought to others.
“We find comfort in knowing that while he is no longer with us, he is now in the presence of the Lord. The lasting impression he made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him will never be forgotten.
“As we navigate this period of grief, we respectfully ask for privacy to mourn as a family. We are deeply thankful for the outpouring of love and support we have received and kindly request that you continue to remember us in your prayers.
“Information regarding the funeral arrangements will be shared at a later time as we come together to celebrate Bolaji’s extraordinary life and legacy.
