The arraignment of the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, on an alleged procurement scam of N6.9 billion, has been postponed for the second time.
The arraignment scheduled for today, Wednesday, August 23 in a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja, was postponed because the case was not on the court’s cause list.
No reason was given to journalists as lawyers to both parties were absent in court.
The case was first stalled on August 17 following the absence of the second defendant in the case, Sa’adatu Yaro.
She was said to have taken ill and could not make it to court.
The presiding judge, Justice Hamza Muazu, adjourned the case till August 23 for the arraignment of the defendants.
