Inside Ondo: Abducted Travellers Regain Freedom After N12m Ransom

The three indigenes of Ikaram Akoko in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State who were kidnapped by some gunmen in Ayere in Kogi State have gained their freedom.

Report has it that the victims who were traveling from Abuja coming for a birthday ceremony in their hometown in Ondo State were kidnapped along Ayere-Kabba Road in Kogi State last week.

A source however disclosed that the victims regained their freedom after the payment of the N12 million ransom.

“Their families paid N12million ransom to secure the safe release of the abductees after a series of negotiations,” the source stated.

When contacted about the development, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, however, claimed oblivious of the incident.

“I am not aware of such an incident, it did not happen in our jurisdiction,” the PPRO said.
