Inside Lagos: Police Bust Baby Factory In Ijegun, Rescue 10 Victims

The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a baby factory in the Ijegun area and rescued 10 victims from the premises.

According to police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, three individuals were arrested in connection with the illegal operation.

He revealed that the discovery followed a tip-off received on Saturday, prompting a swift police response. Officers subsequently apprehended the prime suspect, Mariam Vincent (35), alongside Orie Ruth (23) and Ujunwa Ifeanyi (18).

During the raid, authorities rescued a total of ten individuals—seven adult women and three children, aged seven, five, and two respectively.

The adult victims include Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26). The rescued children are Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2).

All rescued individuals are currently receiving appropriate care and support.

Hundeyin noted that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to abducting the victims from various locations across the state to sustain the illegal operation.

He also confirmed that investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be prosecuted in court.
