Nigerian telecommunications company, Globacom, has reacted to the allegations of unpaid connection charge to MTN.
According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a reliable source in Globacom said that the N1.6 billion in question had previously been paid without any issue.
The clarification follows a public pre-disconnection warning sent by the Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, DAILY GIST reported on Monday
According to the NCC’s notice, which was released on its X page, Glo had failed to settle its outstanding obligations despite repeated attempts at resolution, causing the allowed partial disconnection.
The NCC said in an official statement, “At the end of ten days on January 8, 2024, Globacom subscribers will no longer be able to make calls to MTN but will be able to receive calls.”
However reacting, the Glo official disputed the NCC’s charges, emphasizing that a comprehensive fact-checking process should have been carried out before raising allegations of non-payment.
