Four children. including a two-year-old boy, and an adult were on Monday saved from being burnt alive by men of the fire service.
The fire incident happened on the evening of Monday in Layin Gado-da-Masu, Dorayi Chiranci area of Kano, according to the spokesperson for Kano State Fire Service, Saidu Mohammed.
He said the fire was triggered by a gas cooker in one of the residences. He added that of the five people rescued. three died at the Mallam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where they were being checked while the other two are in critical conditions.
He gave the names of the victims as Usman Ibrahim, 2; Rukkaiya Umar, 5; Baffa Umar, 8; Al-Amin Ibrahim, 10, and Zainab Mohammed, 35.
