Ondo State Police Command have arrested, Deji Adenuga, the suspected murderer who set ablaze nine members of his estranged girlfriend’s family in Igbodigo, in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the State.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Femi Joseph confirmed the arrest today in Akure.

According to Joseph, the suspect was arrested under a bridge, along Lagos/Benin Expressway in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

Adenuga is said to be one of the inmates that escaped from the Olokuta Prison in Akure, Ondo State during the prison break that occurred in 2013.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has awarded each player of Nigeria’s Super Falcons $100,000 and a three-bedroom apartment following their return from Morocco.

This gesture follows their victory in the WAFCON tournament, where they made a surprising comeback to defeat the host nation, Morocco.

President Tinubu had earlier congratulated the team during a video call and expressed that he looked forward to receiving them at the Presidential Villa upon their return.

According to a statement issued by the president’s spokesperson, Dada Oluwasegun, the reward was made public.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu confers National Honours of Officer of Order of Niger and 3 bedroom apartments each and a cash award of $100,000 each to the 24 players and $50,000 each technical team for all the members of the Technical Committee”

Transcorp Power Reports Strong H1 2025 Results, Posts N77.6bn Profit

Transcorp Power Plc (“Transcorp Power” or the “Company”), (NGX: TRANSPOWER), one of the power subsidiaries of Nigeria’s leading listed conglomerate, Transnational Corporation Plc (“Transcorp Group”), has announced its unaudited financial results for the half-year ended 30 June 2025.

The Company’s revenue grew by 52% year-on-year to ₦205.8 billion in 2025, against ₦135.4 billion in H1 2024.

The H1 2025 performance was driven by enhanced generation capacity and improved operational efficiency, a reflection of Transcorp Power’s continued investment in infrastructure and service delivery.

Key Highlights

 Revenue Growth

 Revenue grew by 52% year-on-year to ₦205.8 billion, from ₦135.4 billion in H1 2024.

 Profit

 Gross profit increased to ₦77.6 billion, up from ₦62.9 billion in H1 2024, with a gross margin of 23%.

 Profit before tax rose by 15% PBT, to ₦58.7 billion in H1 2025, from ₦51.0 billion in H1 2024

 Dividend

 Consistent with its commitment to delivering shareholder value, the Company is rewarding shareholders with an interim dividend of ₦11,250,000,000, equivalent to ₦1.50 for every 50 kobo ordinary share, subject to appropriate withholding tax.

The performance highlights Transcorp Powers’s ability to maintain profitability, despite inflationary pressures and foreign exchange volatility, supported by effective pricing strategies and cost management, as well as the Company’s commitment to delivering significant returns to shareholders, with the enhanced dividend.

The team touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Monday afternoon and were received with cheers and celebration.
