The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, claims that Nigerian youngsters have the potential to be compensated for exposing economic and financial crimes that lead to financial recovery.

The EFCC chairman advised youngsters and the general public to take advantage of the commission’s whistleblower policy in order to earn legitimate money.

Bawa made the appeal on February 2, 2022, in Abuja, in front of a group of social media influencers organized by the Mofeto Miracle Shurch.

Bawa said the policy is still in effect in a statement posted on the commission’s Facebook page.

Bawa also urged whistleblowers to use the EFCC’s Eagle Eye reporting app to report economic and financial offenses.

In its remark, the group led by author and human rights activist, Richard Akinola, said they have followed closely the performance of the Bawa-led EFCC and have realized that concerted efforts are needed in the fight against corruption.

The whistleblowing policy of the Federal Government was launched during the first tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as part of its efforts to fight corruption.
