The management of Africa Independent Television, AIT,a member of DAAR Communication Group, has laid off over 200 members of staff in a massive retrenchment exercise that’s currently ongoing at the Chief Raymond Dokpesi owned private television station.
PorscheClassy Media gathered exclusively that several founding members of staff and broadcast veterans of AIT were affected in the ongoing retrenchment exercise, prominent amongst them is Austin Agbonsuremi whom before the termination of his appointment, was the head honcho of famous political program on the company’s radio station, Ray Power 100.5fm ‘Political Platform’.
Head of sports and newscaster, Tunde Orebiyi, Legendary sport caster Ovedje Kudesoh were amongst those affected by the forced retirement exercise.
PorscheClassy also gathered that virtually all members of staff who were forced to retire are currently been owed between 8 to 14 months salary and have been told to come for their money on the 31st of March, 2018.
Information at our disposal reveals that the organisation took this step to be able to re-position the company with the newer vision of the media house.
Recall that similar fate befell the staff of Sun Newspaper few days ago when the Publisher of the newspaper and former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, was said to have embarked on the mass sack to re-position the newspaper.
