The House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Congress Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South, Enugu Federal Constituency, Mr. Ejikeme Omeje, died in an auto crash on Tuesday morning.
Omeje, a pharmacist and top APC chieftain in Enugu North Senatorial district died along Eden Ani/Nsukka road, near El-Rina hotel, Nsukka.
Although police or Federal Road Safety Corps have not officially confirmed the accident, according to The Punch, the accident occurred when he was coming back from Edem-Ani town after a political meeting.
It was gathered that he was driving alone along Erina-Edem Ani road when he suddenly lost control and his car entered inside a bush where the car hit a tree in the process.
Report has it that Omeje was rushed to a hospital where he died early due to serious injuries he sustained in the head.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, could not be reached for confirmation.
