The outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has raised the alarm over the invasion of his residence by armed security agents suspected to be operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Fayose raised the alarm in the early hours of Tuesday via his Twitter handle.
He tweeted: “It is known to the public that I offered to make myself available at the EFCC office today. However, as I write,t here are strange movements around my residence & I’m aware of planned invasion any moment from now. Despite this, I’Il be at the commission’s office tomorrow as promised.”
Fayose had on Friday handed over to the Ekiti State Head of Service, Dr. Gbenga Faseluka.
On Sunday after a thanksgiving service at the Government House chapel in Ado Ekiti, he had announced his decision to move to Abuja in order to report himself at the EFCC’s office.
Immediately after the service, Fayose left Ado Ekiti for abuja, where he was hosted to a farewell dinner by the Peoples Democratic Party.
At the dinner, he restated his resolve to report at the office of the EFCC at 1pm on Tuesday (today).
