The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is taking serious action regarding bribery allegations made by Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, a well-known cross-dresser and ex-convict.

Bobrisky claimed in a video, promoted by blogger Martins Otse (VeryDarkMan), that some EFCC officers received ₦15 million from him to drop money laundering charges.

In response, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede has ordered an immediate investigation into these allegations.

The EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, announced that a team of investigators has been formed to look into the matter.

Both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan have been invited to the EFCC’s Lagos Directorate to assist investigators in uncovering the truth.

“To this end, the Commission hereby invites both Okuneye and Otse (VeryDarkMan) to make themselves available at its Lagos Directorate to assist investigators unearth the alleged bribery,” he said.

The EFCC assured the public that the allegations would be thoroughly investigated and the result of the findings made public accordingly.

In April, Bobrisky was sentenced to six months imprisonment without an option of fine for abusing the Nigerian currency, naira.
