Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has expressed his congratulations to his fellow artist Tems after her victory at the 67th Grammy Awards.
Tems won the prestigious award for ‘Best African Music Performance’ for her hit single ‘Love Me Jeje.’
Her track beat out other nominees such as Yemi Alade’s ‘Tomorrow,’ Asake and Wizkid’s ‘MMS,’ Chris Brown’s ‘Sensational’ featuring Davido and Lojay, and Burna Boy’s ‘Higher.’
Davido shared his pride in Tems’ success via a post on his X page, saying: “Congratulations to my one and only! @chrisbrown! And to the Queen @temsbaby we are proud of you.”
‘Love Me Jeje,’ which samples Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 song of the same title, has garnered widespread acclaim since its release in April 2024.
Tems, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, first gained significant attention in 2020 after collaborating with Wizkid on the song ‘Essence.’
In February 2023, she won her first Grammy Award in the ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ category for her contribution to Future’s hit song ‘Wait for U,’ which featured Drake.
In March 2024, she was recognized with a ‘Breakthrough Award’ at the Billboard Women in Music Awards.
