Dancing LASTMA Officer, Olusegun Timothy Wins Big At Eko Mi Awards, Takes Home N1.2 Million Cash [PHOTOS]

Oluwasegun Timothy, a dedicated and enthusiastic Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officer, was honored with a N1 million cash donation and an Award of Excellence at the prestigious Eko Mi Awards on Thursday.

Renowned for his energetic and passionate approach to traffic management, Timothy received the award at the maiden edition of the Eko Mi Awards held at Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja.

His infectious enthusiasm and dedication have made him a beloved figure on Lagos streets, earning him well-deserved recognition for his outstanding service.

The evening’s highlight was the heartfelt moment when Mr. Adefolalu Timothy, the popular dancing LASTMA officer from Agidingbi, received special recognition.

In appreciation of his dedication, MC Gbenga Adeyinka called for donations, and Chief Bestman Nze-Jumbo generously kicked off the contributions with a N500,000 donation on behalf of the organizers, inspiring others to follow suit.

This sparked a chain reaction of kindness, with other dignitaries joining in and donating generously. In the end, a staggering total of N1.2 million was raised to reward the officer’s outstanding commitment and service.

The crowd was visibly moved by this outpouring of support, making it a truly unforgettable moment of the night.

The audience was treated to an unforgettable night of entertainment, featuring side-splitting performances by comedians MC Stylo, Prince Phelar, and Chi Young, alongside mesmerizing musical acts by veteran Jojo Body beat and Fabs. The honorees delivered heartfelt acceptance speeches that left the audience inspired and motivated. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the “Most Stylish King” award to King Saheed Elegushi, who was celebrated for his impeccable sense of style and fashion. Other notable awardees included Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, Hakeem Smith, and Oniru, who were recognized for their outstanding contributions to their respective fields.

Additional awardees included Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government; TVC Journalists Hangout (TV Program of the year); Hon James Faleke (Politician of the year); and Chief Segun Odegbami (MON) as Sports Icon of the Year.

In his welcome address, Otunba Bestman Nze Jumbo, Convener of the Award and Publisher of Eko Mi, Eko E, emphasized that the award ceremony was inspired by the transformative changes taking place in Lagos, driven by government initiatives and the contributions of private organizations and individuals. He reaffirmed Eko mi, Eko E Magazine’s commitment to showcasing Lagos in a positive light and highlighting areas where the government can further deliver democracy dividends to the people.
