Evans, as he is simply called, was reportedly arrested inside his palatial mansion in the estate by men of the Nigeria Police Force under the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team led by Assistant Commissioner Abba Kyari.
Following the public condemnation that greeted his arrest, Evans said he can no longer stand the humiliation, so he preferred to die than to continue living in pains.
He said he regretted that he could not end his life before policemen arrested him in his Magodo residence, adding that he knew the police would not treat him fairly when he was caught, following his atrocities in the past.
