Celestial Church Crisis Deepens As Prophet Ogundipe ‘Genesis’ Threatens Court Action Against Prominent Leaders

The recent crisis which started brewing between the leadership of the Celestial Church of Christ and Prophet Ogundipe Oladere Israel Genesis, Founder, Genesis Global Celestial Church of Christ, Alakuko, Ogun State, may have boiled over as the Prophet, through his lawyers, has written some prominent leaders and their associates asking them to meet certain conditions or risk legal action.

Those to whom the letter s addressed are Tunde Adeniyi, Prophet Tibetan Elisha, Celestial Church of Christ Ketu International Headquarters; Kafayat Bolanle Arinola Lawal, North Carolina, USA, Maureen Badejo; Olabisi Elizabeth Itohan; and others.

The letter titled ‘Pre-Action Notice, Said, “Final Warning Against Your Serial Acts Of Conspiracy, Civil And Criminal Defamation Of Character To With Slander And Libel, Threatening Violence, Harassment, Social Media/Cyber Bullying, Violation Of Fundamental Human Rights, Intimidation, Threat To Life, Serial Acts Of Trespass And False Alarm, Provocative Conducts Likely To Cause Breach Of Peace And Forceful Invasion And Unlawful Breach Of Private Life Of Prophet Ogundipe Isreal Oladele Genesis (Our Client) And Others.’

Based on the infractions listed, the letter said: “I have my client’s instruction to demand a Letter of Apology to be submitted to our client (via his above address) and further publish in five national newspapers (Punch, Nation, LEADERSHIP, Sun and Vanguard) with a copy of each submitted at our client’s address, as well as publication and retrieval statement of apology on all your aforementioned social media platforms and blog page(es) just like you published ab initio) and pay the sum of N50 million damages (severally), upon the receipt of this letter via email, Whatsapp, Facebook or any other means desired collectively.

“Whilst we anticipate your expeditious removal of the aforementioned defamatory contents with immediate effect, instructively on or before Monday, 6th July 2020, failure of this shall lead to instituting strict legal sanctions for redress; both criminally and civil at a court of competent jurisdiction forthwith.”
