Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of being behind the recent sack of the United States Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday sacked Rex Tillerson as the U.S. Secretary of State, replacing him with CIA Director Mike Pompeo.

Trump, who made the announcement on his twitter handle, thanked Tillerson for his service and encouraged Pompeo to do a wonderful job. Buhari on Monday met behind closed doors with the former U.S. Secretary of State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Tillerson, who has been on a five-day working tour of some African countries, had visited Chad and Kenya on Friday before coming to Nigeria.

Reacting to the sack of Tiller on his Twitter handle, the chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated that Buhari should be avoided.

Fani-Kayode wrote: “If it is not that Buhari has chronic bad luck how is it that within 12 hours of seeing him in Abuja, Rex Tillerson, the American Sec. of State, was removed from office by @realDonaldTrump and replaced with George Pompeo of the CIA?

“Congrats George! My advice? Steer clear of Buhari!”
