A Dana aircraft, number 9J0363, flying from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to Port Harcourt International Airport in Rivers State has overshot the Port Harcourt runway.
This is coming almost six years after the airline’s service from Abuja to Lagos crashed, killing all the 159 persons on board.
The crash occurred on June 3, 2012 in Ishaga area of Lagos State.
According to an eyewitness, Layefa Walter, a Port Harcourt based oil worker, the flight skid off the runway and a wing of the airplane was damaged.
Tuesday’s incidence was suspected to have been caused by a heavy rain, which was accompanied by strong wind and storm in Port Harcourt.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria in a statement said no casualty was recorded as all passengers on board were safely evacuated.
