BREAKING: Organised Labour Likely To Shelve Nationwide Strike

There is a possibility that the upcoming statewide strike would be postponed, in order to protest the suffering caused by the recent elimination of fuel subsidies.

The strike is scheduled on August 2nd.

Emma Ugbaja of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC provided the suggestion at the end of the Presidential Steering Committee on Palliatives meeting Tuesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He said though, the measures announced Monday evening by President Bola Tinubu were welcoming, still, they were not far-reaching enough.

He however said the Labour team would go back to the bodies they represent to reach a consensus on the next line of action.
