BREAKING: Governor El-Rufai Orders Arrest Of Journalist In Kaduna
Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna state, has ordered the arrest of Midat Joseph, a Leadership newspapers correspondent based in Kaduna.
According to DailyPost, Midat was said to have been arrested by security operatives at his house in the early hours of Thursday, April 20.
While reports of the reason for his arrest are still sketchy, sources said the journalist was picked up for publishing a report which was critical of the Kaduna state government.
Midat is now in detention in Kaduna city, the state capital.
Midat’s detention brings to six, the number of journalists arrested Governor El-Rufai since he assumed office on May 29, 2015.
