There was a rowdy session in the upper chamber of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
This followed the debate on a bill for an act to make provision for Federal grant to Lagos State in recognition of its strategic socio-economic significance and other connected purposes.
The bill was sponsored by Senator Oluremi Tinubu (APC-Lagos Central).
The problem started when Senator Olusola Adeyeye (APC-Osun Central) in his contribution stated that Federal Capital Territory is like a pamper child.
The statement angered Senator Philip Aduda, representing FCT, who immediately demanded the withdrawal of the statement by Adeyeye.
Aduda was supported by most senators from Northern part of the country who stood up demanding the withdrawal of the statement.
It was at this point that the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, ask Senator Adeyeye to withdraw his statement.
With the ruling by the Deputy Senate President, Adeyeye withdraw his statement.
The development paved way for Ekweremadu to put the bill into voting and it was unanimously rejected by the senators.
