A former manager of the late Gospel singer, Aduke Gold, has revealed the devastating struggles she faced before her passing.

The manager, a middle-aged man, shared that Aduke endured immense physical and sexual abuse, which was too much for someone of her age to bear.

Aduke Gold passed away on August 11, 2024, at the age of 37, while undergoing surgery for cervical cancer.

The manager described Aduke as a woman who suffered not only from physical injuries but also from deep emotional pain.

He claimed that she kept her struggles hidden, refusing to share her secret pains with anyone.

‘She was capable of keeping secrets and hiding her emotions, and masking her hurt with fake smiles, the manager who refused to disclose his name said, stressing that the singer might still be alive if she didn’t hide her pains from her friends and colleagues.

An independent source told this magazine that a certain lover of Aduke who is a drummer with a popular male Gospel singer, Lanre Teriba, physically abused her throughout the period they dated. The manager recalled how Aduke Gold once shared her troubles and fears with him, based on physical abuses she encountered with men, including some priests who approached her in the guise of helpers.

“I observed the change in her once when she shared her relationship troubles with me. But she stopped sharing her secrets afterwards based on reasons known only to her,” the manager said.

Another source said there was another young man who had a relationship with Aduke and took advantage of her humility and perceived timidity to abuse her. The man, the source revealed, was a restaurateur in Ogba area of Lagos State.

“Men took advantage of her tenderness and tolerant disposition to abuse her. But she doesn’t share her experiences with anyone even though some of us knew what she was going through,” stated the source who added that each time Aduke returned home from a show, her lover would assault her severely.

An explosion occurred at the Tony Okocha-led secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, located along Aba Road, Port Harcourt, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, during the local government election.

The explosion damaged the gate and doors of the secretariat, along with other property. According to Tony Okocha, Chairman of the APC faction in Rivers State, “About 3:20am some gun-trotting young men with their explosives and all that, came here and dropped the first explosive,” but when it did not detonate, “they came back the second time to burn the structure – look at the security house is gone.”

Okocha alleged that the attack was politically motivated, accusing Governor Siminalayi Fubara of responsibility. He stated, “It was deliberate to see how they can annihilate us, it is deliberate to see how they can embarrass us, it is deliberate to see how they can decimate us.”

Despite the incident, accreditation and voting have commenced in several polling centres around Port Harcourt City.
