The court handling the presidential election petition has resumed proceedings on the case brought forward by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The tribunal had previously postponed the petition after President Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) concluded their defense on July 5th.
The court had directed parties in the petition to write, file and exchange their final written addresses.
Atiku is challenging the outcome of the February 25 election and praying the court to nullify Tinubu’s victory.
At the court session on Tuesday, Atiku and some other political associates were present.
Parties in the suit are expected to adopt their final written addresses.
