The Police in Ogun State has arrested three suspected members of a syndicate alleged to have robbed a hospital in Ibafo.
Folarin Azeez, 25, Temitope Bolariwa, 24, and Kolade Ahmed, 30, with others at large allegedly attacked the hospital located at riverside, Omolaja Odunbaku Street, Oremeji on December 7.
They allegedly dispossessed patients at the clinic of their valuables and escaped through surrounding bushes before the policemen from Ibafo Ibafo Division arrived at the scene.
In the course of investigating the robbery incident, witness gathered that Divisional Police Officer (DPO) SP Abiodun Ayinde received Intelligence that the hoodlums were hibernating in Shimawa and moved his men into the area on December 12.
Three of the suspected robbers were arrested and 12 mobile phones and wristwatches belonging to some of the victims were recovered, said police spokesman DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi.
He said the command in the course of investigation received information that the syndicate had carried out robberies in Osun State.
“The Commissioner of Police Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for in-depth investigation into their various robbery activities.
He warned that anyone who comes to Ogun State with the intention to perpetrate any form of crime would have his/herself to blame as the command is ready to take the battle to the doorstep of criminals,” said Oyeyemi.
