Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) has reported that Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel broke into its office following the disconnection of electricity at Sam Ethnan Air Force Base in Ikeja, Lagos.
Kingsley Okotie, spokesperson for IKEDC, confirmed the incident to TheCable on Thursday, stating that the NAF personnel vandalized the company’s office, “assaulted” employees, and made off with several company assets.
“It happened this morning from the Nigerian Air Force, Sam Ethnan Barracks, Ikeja. They are owing us over N4 billion, they were disconnected, and this is what we got,” Okotie explained.
“They came, they invaded our offices, our CHQ. As I speak with you now, I have a fractured leg. They molested and assaulted our staff. They took about 16 of our vehicles, with our drivers at the wheel,” he added.
“They destroyed all our offices, stole laptops, phones, demolished all our IT infrastructure, and blinded all the cameras CCTV.”
“Luckily, they couldn’t arrest the CEO, but they were looking vehemently for her.”
Okotie mentioned that Folake Soetan, IKEDC’s CEO, had to go into hiding.
