Nnoma Nze, a 32-year-old woman, was arraigned before the Ebute-Metta Magistrate Court in Lagos State on Thursday, facing charges of conspiracy, fraud, and stealing.
The police alleged that Nze conspired with others, currently at large, to defraud her employer, Chidinma Peace, of N100 million over a period of nearly a decade (2015-2024) at the Onilekere Cement area in Lagos State.
The charge sheet stated that Nze’s actions contravened Sections 411, 314(1)(a)(b)(2)(3), 280, and 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws of 2015.
During the arraignment before Magistrate Waliu Salami, Nze pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate Salami granted Nze bail in the sum of N1 million, with two sureties in like sum, requiring proof of livelihood and evidence of tax payments to the Lagos State government.
Additionally, one surety must be a blood relation of the defendant, and their addresses must be verified by the court. The case was adjourned until September 18, 2024, for further mention.
