A group supporting former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to vie for the 2019 presidency, says it would leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should he leave the party. National Coordinator of “IamAtikulated2019” Ike Bishop Okoronkwo said this in a press conference in Abuja on Sunday.
According to Okoronkwo, Atiku is the only one that can transform the nation’s economy, noting that he has all it takes to beat other contenders.“We are protégés of Atiku. Wherever he goes, we will go. Whatever he ask us to do, we will do. We are campaigning for transformation of Nigeria’s economy and employment of youths, the group’s leader said.
“And having looked at the profiles of those currently aspiring to contest for President on the platform of PDP for 2019, we have identified Atiku as the only one with the character and content, political will and capacity required to bring the needed transformation that Nigerians are yearning for.
“The majority of the members of this platform, came from the various support groups that vigorously campaigned for General Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 general elections.”
