Dana Air says it will be supporting Hilda Baci, the world record-breaking chef, with one year of free tickets for all her domestic travels.
On Monday morning, Baci made history after cooking for more than 87 hours and 45 minutes, breaking a record that was previously set by India’s Lata Tondon back in 2019.
The feat was achieved at the Amore Gardens, Lekki in Lagos.
After breaking Tondon’s cooking record, the chef decided to go a step further by setting a new record of 100 hours.
While Nigerians celebrated Baci’s achievement on Twitter, the airline company, in a statement, hailed the chef as a source of “inspiration for greatness.”
The company also announced a three-month free ticket for Baci’s mum.
In the statement, Dana Air said it will “always support craft and innovations of young spirited Nigerians”.
“We have always blazed the trail in terms of support for the arts and entertainment industry, health care, and culture and our corporate social responsibility has been all-encompassing,” Ememobong Ettete, Dana Air CEO was quoted in the statement.
“We will be supporting Hilda’s local travels for one year and We are inspired by her strength and determination for greatness.
“We understand her mum is also a chef and she must have gotten this inspiration from her and in the light of this, we shall be supporting her mum with 3 months of local flights for free. We thank Hilda’s mum for giving us an amazing daughter and for being a huge support system to Hilda.”
President Muhammadu Buhari earlier lauded the young culinary expert for “making history and placing Nigeria in the global spotlight.”
