Team Brazil Triumphs At E1 Lagos Grand Prix As Governor Sanwo-Olu Applauds Innovation

Team Brazil clinched victory at the E1 Lagos Grand Prix, with pilot Timmy Hansen leading from start to finish at the Lagos Lagoon.

The Claure Group–backed team secured its first win in the all-electric powerboat series, ahead of Team Blue Rising in second place and Team Drogba in third.

With 38 points from Lagos, Brazil’s tally rose to 89, keeping their championship hopes alive before the Miami finale.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu presented the trophy, hailing the event as proof of Lagos’ innovation, creativity, and commitment to sustainability.

He emphasized that hosting Africa’s first all-electric powerboat race not only showcased sporting excellence but also aligned with Lagos’ clean energy vision and boosted tourism and global recognition.

The Lagos race, the penultimate of the season, now sets up a thrilling Miami showdown for the inaugural E1 world title.
